Last Thursday (5th April), an artist who I admired died. His name was Isao Takahata, and he was the cofounder of Studio Ghibli (along with Hayao Miyazaki) and the director of some anime films, such as
Grave of the fireflies (his most famous anime production) or
Pom Poko. He also took part in
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, considered to be the first one made by Studio Ghibli.
Takahata was an essential member of the Studio and a very talented storyteller. His loss will be keenly felt.
